The Gen Z Project
Generation Z, or those born from 1997-2012, are the future of our community, the future of Nevada, and the future leaders of the United States. Together we can support this generation make a difference on this tiny planet we call home.
The Beacon has three main objectives that are proven to increase youth development and make for a better future. This all starts by becoming a member of the Beacon Gen Z Project.
Get Involved
Community service is crucial in making this place we call home a better place. By volunteering your time you can make a difference by giving back to the community, learn new skills and gain professional experience, increase self-esteem and personal growth, and save resources.
Get Informed
Each month the Beacon will offer a high school level professional development (PD) class. Topics focus on a range of topics such as financial readiness, college prep, professional development, and so much more. Dress to impress in these classes as we apply real world skills and expectations.
Get Ahead
As an added bonus we plan to select one high school level member per month to receive a $50 Visa gift card. Eligible recipients must be a member of the Gen Z Project, must have completed 10 hours of verifiable community service within the last 12 calendar months, and must have attended the monthly professional development course. This may only be awarded once per person per year. The winner will be selected based on Gen Z Project participation, and hours of community service.
We will also select an annual college bound scholarship recipient to receive a $500 cash scholarship. In addition to the requirements above, the scholarship recipient must be in good academic standing, and must be actively enrolled or accepted into an institution of higher learning. The winner will be selected based on GPA, Gen Z Project participation, and hours of community service.
This will be our first full scale community program and we need the help of community members to keep it going. If you’re able to donate to this cause, head on over to our donation page to see tax deductible options.
A select few Gen Z Project members will be interviewed and selected for our youth advisory board. Further, members 18 years of age or above will be nominated and appointed as a voting director on our Board of Directors. This opportunity will provide real employment experience, professional references, and future opportunities to serve in greater capacities.
